If you are downloading a lot and suddenly experience a drop in your speeds, our system may have mistaken you for a bot. Bots can download high volumes of content in a short period of time, which ends up slowing download speeds for everybody and ‘clogs’ our system; as a preventative measure, we’ve put systems in place to try to cut down on bot activity on the site. This has benefits for our regular customers: it keeps costs down, and keeps both download and streaming speeds up for everyone.
If your speeds have dropped, that means your account might be temporarily throttled as part of those measures. If you are getting a 403 error when you try to download, that means you’ve hit our daily download cap and have had your ability to download temporarily suspended. These measures reverse after 24 hours have passed.
